Her Guiding Ethos
Milestones in Service

A Journey of Service Beyond Healthcare

Veena’s passion for social service has always extended beyond conventional professional boundaries, evolving through rigorous clinical crisis work into deep community leadership.

01
The Beginning · Clinical Crisis

Organ Donation & Grief Counselling

Her professional journey began in the emotionally demanding field of organ donation, transplantation, and grief counselling. She served as the first Grief Counsellor at Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital, Chennai, deputed by the MOHAN Foundation.

She was later appointed to the State Organ Donation & Transplantation Committee, coordinating organ allocations with the medical fraternity, and overseeing complex heart, liver, and kidney transplant cases across leading healthcare institutions including Apollo Hospitals and Frontier Lifeline Hospital, Chennai.

02
Expansion · Advocacy & Training

Cancer Care, Mental Health & Professional Education

Her clinical work expanded into cancer and palliative care through affiliations with GKNMH Hospital, Coimbatore and the Coimbatore Cancer Care Foundation, providing dedicated counselling and emotional strength to oncology patients and their families.

To build nationwide systemic resilience, she trained more than 400 grief counsellors and transplant coordinators across India with MOHAN Foundation and Love Your Liver Foundation, conceptualised corporate mental health sessions, and organized Chennai’s first Night Marathon to raise widespread public awareness.

Social Leadership

Empowering Women & Communities

As the former Co-founder of Dindigul Parenting Charitable Trust, Veena deepened her commitment to grassroots community development and family wellbeing.

Through the Trust, she conducted numerous educational programmes, women’s empowerment and self-evolution workshops, practical learning sessions, and social awareness initiatives. These programmes were designed not merely to convey information, but to encourage women to reflect, build confidence, and become active contributors to their families and society.

“Meaningful change begins when people are given the right knowledge, opportunity, support and confidence to transform their own lives.”

This foundational conviction later shaped her vision for holistic maternal care.
The Turning Point

When Motherhood Changed Everything

Then came motherhood. Becoming a mother fundamentally transformed the way Veena looked at health, wellbeing, family, and the beginning of life itself.

Her own experiences of pregnancy, birth, and breastfeeding brought a profound realization: maternal wellbeing is a sensitive, continuous continuum that begins long before delivery.

“Wellbeing does not begin when a baby is born. It begins much earlier — even before conception and in the womb.”

She began exploring pregnancy fitness, prenatal wellbeing, womb bonding, nutrition, breastfeeding, postpartum recovery, and conscious parenting — discovering firsthand that mothers need far more than clinical advice.

The transformative journey of motherhood
The Awakening

The Maternal Care Realisation

Motherhood and clinical listening revealed the silent gaps between standard medical appointments and lived family realities — transforming isolated needs into a unified sanctuary.

The Unmet Challenges

What Mothers Often Experience

  • Fragmented SupportMoving between disparate centers for fitness, nutrition, lactation, and postpartum care.
  • Conflicting AdviceNavigating family pressures, social expectations, and overwhelming misinformation online.
  • Postpartum IsolationAttention shifting entirely to the infant while the mother's mental and physical healing is sidelined.

The Holistic Solution

What Every Mother Truly Needs

  • Continuous Perinatal CareConnected guidance across physical fitness, nutrition, lactation, and postpartum recovery.
  • Emotional SupportValidating fears, providing compassionate counselling, and nurturing mental wellbeing.
  • Partner & Family SanctuaryEquipping fathers and families to become active, confident pillars of physical and emotional recovery.

“Maternal wellbeing is influenced not only by the mother herself, but by her partner, family, community and the information she receives from the world around her.”

Evolution of Purpose

From Personal Experience to Professional Purpose

After obtaining her lactation certification, Veena began counselling mothers through their breastfeeding journeys. Listening deeply to hundreds of women unveiled an essential truth: breastfeeding education alone was not enough.

01
Experience

Motherhood

Her own pregnancy, birth, and breastfeeding journey exposed the emotional and physical vulnerabilities that mothers navigate.

02
Listening

Active Support

Counselling nursing mothers revealed deep mental stress, family expectations, and pervasive conflicting advice about infant nutrition.

03
Realisation

Beyond Education

Breastfeeding support alone was not enough. Maternal preparation must begin the very day a couple decides to conceive.

04
Vision

Connected Care

Pregnancy fitness, nutrition, mental health, lactation, and postpartum recovery are not isolated silos — they are one connected discipline.

05
